PESHAWAR, 18 September: Another dengue patient died in Peshawar on Monday bringing the death toll to 27 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial Health Department said in a statement.
According to it, 35-year-old Shah Alam breathed his last in the Khyber Teaching Hospital. He was a resident of Tehkal area of the provincial metropolis and brought to the hospital on September 16.
Meanwhile, the number of dengue patients is increasing with every passing day. According to the Health Department’s Dengue Response Unit, as many as 1498 people were scanned on Monday out of whom 242 more persons were tested positive.
Presently, 401 patients are admitted in different hospitals of the province while 71 people have been discharged after recovering from the fever.
Meanwhile, a dengue case has also surfaced in Barawal area of district Upper Dir. The patient has been shifted to the district headquarter hospital for treatment.
