PESHAWAR, 5 October: Another patient died of dengue fever in Peshawar on Wednesday after which the death toll from the disease has mounted to 43 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Dengue Response Unit, 80-year-old Mira Khan was admitted to Khyber Teaching Hospital on 30 September. He died at the hospital on Wednesday. He belonged to Naudeh Payan area of Arbab Road in Peshawar.

The Health Department said 312 more people in KP were infected by dengue virus on Wednesday. It said that 115 of them were admitted to hospitals, while 93 patients were discharged after recovery.

Majority of people who died of dengue belonged to Tehkal, Pishtakhara and Sufaid Dheri union councils. The virus has infected thousands of people in KP’s many districts.
