PESHAWAR, 11 October: Two more dengue patients died in Peshawar on Tuesday after which death toll from the disease in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached 52.

A 65-year-old woman, Mehr Taj, hailing from Pishtakhara, died at Khyber Teaching Hospital where she was admitted on 5 October. Another patient, Aslam Khan, who died of dengue, belonged to Sufaid Dheri. The 70-year-old patient also died at Khyber Teaching Hospital.

According to the Dengue Response Unit, death toll from dengue disease has reached 52 in KP. It said 1,790 patients were taken to different hospitals of KP, where 368 were tested positive. Currently, 427 dengue patients are under treatment at different hospitals of the province.

Majority of the people who died of dengue virus in Peshawar belonged to Tehkal, Pishtakhara and Sufaid Dheri.
