ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan invite India to dialogue and pursue peace and called it the only way to alleviate poverty and uplift the people of the subcontinent.
The prime minister tweeted twice from his official twitter account and said, “to move forward”, Pakistan and India must dialogue and resolve their conflicts including Kashmir.
“I want to thank Sidhu for coming to Pakistan for my oath taking. He was an ambassador of peace & was given amazing love & affection by ppl of Pakistan. Those in India who targeted him are doing a great disservice to peace in the subcontinent – without peace our people cannot progress,” he tweeted.
The tweets also included a note of gratitude to Navjot Singh Sidhu for attending PM Khan’s inauguration on a special invitation.
Politicians and civil society in India criticised Sidhu for visiting Pakistan. PM Khan said, “Those in India who targeted him [Sidhu] are doing a great disservice to peace in the subcontinent.”
