PESHAWAR, August 12: The displaced families of North Waziristan tribal region have asked the government and private organisations to provide relief money and ration to the remaining 56,000 families.

Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on 11 August, the affectees of the North Waziristan military operation said that in addition to 56,000 families, another 15,000 families could not be provided relief items and money because their national identity cards mentioned two different addresses.

They also demanded stipends for the unemployed youth of North Waziristan and 2 million rupees each to the families of those who died in the military operation.

A former candidate for National Assembly election, Mr Aurangzeb, told TNN, “The displaced tribal families staying in schools in Bannu have been asked to vacate schools. Where will they go? At least the government should provide them with tents to enable them to stay somewhere.”
