PESHAWAR, August 26: Members of the North Waziristan peace committee have asked the government to provide some alternate accommodation to displaced families living in government schools of Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Karak districts till 30 August.

Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club, members of the committee said the government had asked them to vacate government schools till 30August but that authorities did not provided them any alternate accommodation.

They also demanded that tribal families must be allowed to return to those areas cleared by security forces during operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan. They said their repatriation would also save educational year of their children.

“No-one provided books or other educational facilities to our children. Also, there are many people whose parents have died and they are not being registered because their mothers had not made identity cards. They have not got any aid till now,” said one of the speakers.
