PESHAWAR, 25 November: District Nazim Peshawar Arbab Asim Khan formally inaugurated the Clean and Green Peshawar project here on Friday.

Asim Khan also led a march from Khyber Bazaar to Qissa Khawani during which staff of the project distributed pamphlets among the people for creating awareness regarding the importance of sanitation and clean environment.

Speaking in the inauguration ceremony, the District Nazim expressed the resolve that the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would bring Peshawar in to the list of cleanest cities of the world.

The government is working on several projects related to cleanliness and beautification  of the city, he said and added that the government would also inaugurate a food street in Namak Mandi as well as establishing international standard bus terminal in  Peshawar.

The project which is a joint venture of district government and a non-government organization  aims at cleaning Peshawar and making it again the city of flowers.

The six month long project will create awareness in schools, colleges, universities and bazaars regarding cleanliness of the city.
