PESHAWAR: The administration of Lady Reading Hospital (LHR) has imposed a ban on heart surgeries after senior doctors, through a letter, informed that all the equipment in Operation Theater of the hospital are outdated.
The senior doctors informed that some of the machines that are must for heart surgery are also not available at the hospital due to which they will not perform heart surgery as it will put the patients’s in danger. They asked the government to provide the latest facilities and equipments to the hospital without any delay.
At the Cardiovascular ward of the Lady reading hospital, angiography machine is non-functional for the last four years due to which patients have to visit Hayatabad medical complex for angiography.
Currently, there are a number of heart patients waiting for survey at the ward, however, the administration has informed them that since all required machines are out of order, therefore, they should search for an alternative. The LRH spokesperson Asim Khan told media that the purpose the ban is to protect the lives of patients. He added that LRH administration is checking all the machines and new equipment will be provided soon.
Pak Army sets Free medical camp for leishmania patients in Tank
TANK: Pakistan army has set up free camp for leishmania patients at Kot Azam village of district Tank on Saturday. Doctors of Pakistan Army including lady doctors were present at the camp. The doctors also provided free medications including vaccines and other medicines to the victims of the skin disease.
The officials informed that during the one day free medical camps hundreds of the people were provided free medications. The local elders and social activists appreciated Pakistan Army for their efforts to provide the much-needed medications to patients on their doorstep. They said that hundreds of person including women and children victims of the disease were benefited from the free medical camp.
