BARA, 25 August: The tehsil headquarter hospital at Dogra area of Bara subdivision in Khyber agency has been completely operationalised after a gap of seven long years.

Dr. Abdul Qudoos, in-charge of the hospital told TNN that new ultrasound and X-rays machines have been installed in the hospital while clinical laboratory has also been established where different types of test are being done free of cost.

The doctor continued that a fully operational labour room in the gynae ward has also been established which provides round the clock service to the people.

Besides, he added, well-equipped orthopedic and dental wards are also constructed for the first time in the hospital.

Local residents of the area have expressed pleasure over the re-operationalisation of the hospital and said they were being benefited by the health facility.

“The hospital is providing better facilities. Doctors are there and checking up patients. Free tests and X-rays are done. However, medicines are to some extent insufficient. The government should address the problem of medicines,” a tribesman Fawad Khan said.

The hospital remained non-functional after law and order situation got deteriorated in the agency following the rise of militants affiliated with Mangal Bagh-led Lashkar-e-Islam.
