KHAR, 29 October: President Mamnoon Hussain visited Bajaur Agency on Thursday to know about the loses and damages caused by Monday’s earthquake in the agency.

While briefing the president, Political Agent Yahya Akhunzada said that 23 people had been killed while 159 sustained injuries due to building collapses in the agency. He said that 8120 houses, 32 school and 12 health facilities had been destroyed in the earthquake. PA Bajaur said that 864 tents and 900 blankets had been distributed among the quake affected people.

Addressing a gathering in Khar, the president said that quake affectees in Bajaur would get the same relief package announced by the Prime Minister (PM) for the earthquake affected people of the country.

He said the Government was giving special attention to the development of tribal areas.

The President appreciated Pakistan Army and civilian departments for providing immediate relief to quake victims.
