PESHAWAR, 31 October: Authorities distributed compensation cheques among the earthquake victims in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.

In a ceremony held in office of Commissioner office Mardan on Friday, compensation cheque of Rs 0.6 million were given each to the heirs of five people killed in the earthquake.

Similarly the local administration of Mohmand Agency distributed Rs 3 million among the family members of five deceased. In addition, Rs 20000 were given each to 14 injured.

Separately, Assistant Political Agent (APA) Parachinar Shahid Ali Khan gave away a cheque of Rs 0.6 million to the heirs of a woman killed in the recent earthquake in Kurram Agency. He also gave Rs 0.1 million to a woman injured in the disaster.
According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) the death toll in the earthquake mounted to 272, out of which 225 are in KP while 30 belong to FATA.
