The election commission issued a notification in this regard the other day.
Baldev Kumar’s name was on number two position in the list of candidates submitted by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the ECP for seats reserved for non-Muslims. Sardar Soran Singh was however the first priority of the party.
Sardar Soran Singh, a former special assistant to the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on minority affairs, was killed in April last near his house in Pir Baba area of Buner district. Police had arrested Baldev Kumar and two others in the case and all the accused are still in jail.
Senor police officials had said that Kumar killed Soran Sigh because he wanted to become MPA.
