PESHAWAR, 10 October: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of transfer of 12 police officials from different police stations before the NA-4, Peshawar by-election.
The Election Commission said in a statement that Returning Officer Muhammad Ishaq Khan has sent a communique to the capital city police officer of Peshawar to cancel the transfer orders of policemen immediately. The transferred officials include four inspectors and eight sub-inspectors.
Appointments and transfers have been banned in NA-4 constituency of Peshawar where by-election will be held on 26 October. The seat fell vacant after the death of the PTI MNA Gulzar Khan.
