BANNU, September 16: The Education Department in Bannu district has distributed free textbooks among displaced students of North Waziristan studying at the Bacha Khan Tuition Centre.
The tuition centre was opened in a private building by the Progressive Writers Association of Bannu last month.
The District Education Officer, Mr Fazal Sadiq, visited the centre and announced to provide a building to it.
He said there were 1,432 government-run schools in Bannu and that students of North Waziristan could get admission anywhere they liked.
The officials distributed books among the students on the occasion.
“Right now I brought these books with me but I promise that not a single student will be left without books. I have also directed the headmaster of a primary school to give keys of the school building to the management of the tuition centre so that they start tuition classes there. We will also provide a peon and a guard to them,” he added.
