PESHAWAR, Nov 27: The government has initiated efforts to bring back 26 girls hailing from Bajaur Agency to their native area and the assistant political agent has arrived in Karachi for this purpose.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Mr. Mehtab Ahmed Khan telephoned Sindh Chief Minister Mr. Syed Qaim Ali Shah yesterday over the issue. He has also sought a report from the FATA Secretariat officials about the incident and ordered action against those responsible for the incident.
Police had recovered 26 girls hailing from Bajaur Agency from a house in Karachi yesterday who were enrolled by their parents in a madrassa. Owner of the house says he had borrowed money from the madrassa and could not pay back the debt. Therefore, he said, a teacher of the madrassa had handed over these 26 girls to him for their look after.
The administration of Bajaur Agency says these girls will be brought back to their native area from Karachi through a plane and will be handed over to their parents after investigations.
