north wazir operation eidak

MIRANSHSAH, August 8: The North Waziristan agency administration has asked Eidak tribe to vacate their area.

Eidak tribesmen had announced not to leave their villages when the Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched in the agency, because they said they would maintain law and order in their area.

In addition to Eidak, the authorities had also allowed to stay the residents of Razmak, Spinwam, Shawa and Shawal areas in the agency during the operation.

Sources in the agency administration say the authorities directed Eidak tribesmen to vacate their areas in order to expand the ground offensive against militants.

According to the FATA Disaster Management Authority, staff has been deputed to register about 4,000 families of Eidak tribe at the Saidgai checkpost. The families will also be provided food, water and mobile phone SIMs free of cost.
