BARA, September 24: Eight militants have been killed in air strike by Pakistan Air Force’s fighter jets in Tirah valley of Khyber Agency, the military says.

The Inter-services Public Relations says in a statement that the forces pounded Surkas, Duathoy and Gharebay Kanday areas, which are inhabited by Kukikhel Afridi tribespersons.

A Pakistani media organisation reported that those killed also included an Uzbek national.

Though Pakistani military has already launched operation in Khyber Agency, the region is believed to be home to Taliban militants and the fighters of two tribal militias, ie Lashkar-e-Islam and Ansarul Islam.
