PESHAWAR, 26 November: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Thursday arrested eight persons from Chok Yadgar here allegedly involved in Hundi business, sources said.
As per details, an FIA team raided a business center All Pakistan Currency Exchange which was found involved in illegal business. The FIA team also recovered US$ 192,000, 46.2 million Pakistani rupees and other currencies worth million of rupees, an official told TNN.
FIA also arrested a number of persons from Karkhano market and Peshawar City on charges of being involved in Hundi business a few days back, the source informed.
It merits a mention here that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa apex committee had imposed ban on Hundi business terming it one of the main sources of militants’ finances.
Following the instructions, the FIA has been raiding such centers on regular basis.
