KOHAT, 27 November: The entry of 290 Ulema (religious scholars) from different schools of thought has been banned in Kohat on the occasion of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Strict security arrangements have been made in Peshawar and Kohat to avoid any untoward incident on the occasion. The decision of banning the entry of 290 Ulema in Kohat was taken during a meeting of the district administration officials with Ulema from Sunni and Shia sects. The ban has been imposed keeping in view security concerns in the area.
The meeting also banned display of arms, pillion riding, inappropriate use of loudspeakers and open sale of petrol during 2-3 December when the Chehlum processions will be taken out in the city.
The administration in Peshawar has also banned entry of Afghan nationals in the city and cantonment areas from 1-3 December. Hotels in the routes of the Chehlum processions will also be closed for three days.
