PARACHINAR, 23 September: The people visiting National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Parachinar, Kurram Agency, are facing difficulties due to out of order satellite system and shortage of staff.
The area people said they wait outside the NADRA office in long queues for their turn from the morning till evening, but the NADRA officials don’t facilitate them in getting their computerised national identity cards (CNICs) on one pretext or the other. They said the women visitors at NADRA office also face difficulties due to lack of facilities. They demanded the government to repair satellite system in the NADRA office and also address the problem of staff shortage.
Qaiser Ali, a local persons who is currently residing in Islamabad for studies, told TNN that he along with his sister are in Parachinar and visiting NADRA office for the last three days, but they have failed to get CNICs.
“I am visiting NADRA office for the last three weeks but failed to get CNIC. I have no more holidays and NADRA officials seem to be unwilling to issue CNIC to me. I am not alone here as other visitors are also suffering due to this attitude of the NADRA officials,” he said.
NADRA Parachinar office in-charge Sadiq Hussain said best facilities could not be provided to visitors due to error in the system and shortage of staff. He said he has brought the issue into the notice of concerned officials many times, but no action has been taken so far.
