CHITRAL, 21 December: The girls students of Yarkhun Lasht area in Chitral have called upon the government to establish a high school for girls in the area.
The local girls students told TNN that they are compelled to sit with boys in the high school due to lack of a separate girls high school in the area. They said there is only one middle school in the area and most girls students leave education after Class 8 despite having passion for getting more education.
The girls students said the high school for girls is situated far away which is inaccessible for them. They said the local middle school for girls also lacks basic facilities. They said the school lacks boundary walls and students of two classes are made to sit in a single room due to shortage of classrooms.
“We are compelled to get education in boys school due to lack of a separate high school for girls. The government should establish a separate high school for us on priority basis,” a girl student told TNN.
Another student said the high school is too far from her village due to which she faces many difficulties.
