MARDAN, August 6: Family members of a patient who died at the Mardan Medical Complex blocked Nowhsera road in protest because they said the patient had died due to negligence of the staff.
The protesters told TNN that they hospitalised 30-year old Mr Khalid for a minor surgery but that the doctors used huge quantity of anesthesia, which caused the to faint for seven hours and later he passed away.
Brother of the deceased, Mr Sayyar Khan, told TNN that they reported the issue to the doctors several times but that no-one came there to provide medication to the patient.
He demanded the government take strict action against those responsible for the death.
“They delayed the operation timing from 9am to 12pm. Those who have references can get their surgeries done on time. Also, our patient was handled by inexperienced doctors,” he added.
