MARDAN, 13 December: Amir Jamat-e-Islami Siraj ul Haq has said that the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would make it the second largest province after Punjab which would increase importance of the two regions.

Addressing at the oath taking ceremony of the cabinet members of Islamic Lawyers Forum in Mardan on Tuesday, Siraj-ul-Haq said that only political agents and those who are enjoying privileges under the current system of FATA are opposing the integration of tribal areas into  KP.

He added that Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) should be imposed in Islamabad if the rulers think it is a good system.

After becoming the second largest province of the country, KP will have a say in the election of the prime minister and the president, he said adding it would also increase share of KP in NFC award.
