PESHAWAR, June 3: Parliamentarians from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have decided to hold meetings with law experts to get a separate status for the tribal region.
A meeting was held in Parliament Lodges under the supervision of parliamentary leader Mr Shah Jee Gul Afridi wherein members of National Assembly and Senate from FATA participated.
The meeting decided to hold discussions about how to establish FATA Council or separate province of FATA.
A two-member committee was also formed, comprising of Mr Shahab-ud-din Khan and Mr Shah Gee Gul. The federal government was also asked to implement the reforms and amendments in FCR.
They said they would stage protest in and outside the parliament if their demands were not met.
