PESHAWAR, 2 December: The FATA Political Alliance leaders have called upon the government to implement the reforms package in the tribal areas on priority basis and avoid employing delaying tactics in this regard.

The FATA Political Alliance leaders Nisar Mohmand, Zar Noor Afridi and other elders said while addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday that the FATA Reforms Bill was kept in the National Assembly for three months and it will stay in the Senate for the same duration before reaching the President’s Secretariat. They said the whole process is consuming too much time. The FATA leaders said the reforms process must be expedited.

“We are demanding merger of FATA with KP on imitate basis and completion of the reforms process before the next general elections. Provincial Assembly constituencies will be formed in the tribal areas after merger with KP which will also consume time. The government should show urgency to complete the whole process before the elections,” Nisar Mohmand said.
