PESHAWAR, 22 November: The committee formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for reforms in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) held its first session in Islamabad on Saturday.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz chaired the meeting during which issues relating to FATA were discussed thoroughly. The meeting decided to hold next session on 10 December in Islamabad. It decided that meetings will also be held with the FATA lawmakers and other stakeholders before the next session of the committee. The future course of action of the committee will be chalked out after the second session.
The committee was formed by the prime minister few days ago on the demand of parliamentarians of the tribal areas.
