PESHAWAR, September 8: Students from the tribal areas observed the International Literacy Day as black day.

At a rally in front of the Peshawar Press Club, representatives of the FATA Students Federation said that most of the educational institutions in the tribal region were close and that the educational activities were stopped there, that’s why they were observing the day, 8 September, as black day.

“Education facilities are scarce in the tribal region. About 1,000 schools have been destroyed in FATA region and there has been no serious effort to reconstruct them,” said one of the speakers while addressing the rally.
