PESHAWAR, 03 August: University and college students from the federally administered tribal areas (Fata) on Wednesday held a protest demonstration in front of Peshawar press club against suspension of annual scholarship grants.

The protesting students were of the view that college students from Fata used to get Rs5000 while university students were given Rs6000 as annual grant but the authorities in Fata secretariat stopped the grant on pretext that they were rectifying the monitoring mechanism.

The students demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor to immediately remove flaws from the system and release funds so that annual grants to as many as 44700 students from different agencies and FRs could be provided.

“It is government responsibility to remove flaw from the system. The authorities should not deprive students from the annual grants,” said a student while talking to TNN.
