
ISLAMABAD: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) team arrived Pakistan on Sunday to discuss with the government the issue of exclusion of Pakistan’s name from ‘Gray’ list.
The team will review the administrative and the legal steps taken by the government to stop the financial assistance to the terrorists.
The delegation is also likely to hold meetings with officials of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and law enforcement agencies in this regard.
It will also assess the measures taken by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF).
Besides, the FATF team will recommend exclusion of Pakistan’s name from Gray list or inclusion on the Black list after reviewing the situation.
SECP also has completed paper work to stop monetary assistance of terrorists and the money laundering, says a report prepared by SECP, regarding measures taken by the government to curtail the financial assistance of terrorists will be presented in a meeting of the FATF.
