TANK: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) central leader and Jamiat UIema-e-Islam-Fazal chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman expressed concern over the allocation of 16 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly seats for tribal districts and demanded an increase as per the population of the area.
Talking to media at the district council in Tank districts on Friday, Fazal alleged the allocated seats are less as compared to the population of tribal districts, adding that the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to this effect is not based on facts.
Talking about the proposed million March by MMA for January 27 in Dera Ismail Khan, the JUI-F leader claimed that record number of people in the history of DI Khan will participate in the march against the government.
The MMA leader condemned Sahiwal shooting and demanded that the nation should be appraised about the facts behind the inhuman act. Fazl asked the government to ensure the protection of life and property of the people.
The JUI-F leader contended that the government has failed to overcome the economic crisis in the country. “Presenting three budgets in one year is a clear sign that Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf government has failed to run the country,” alleged Maulana. “The economy will never recover under the present government.” The JUI-F chief alleged that PTI has been imposed on the people of the country through massive rigging in the general elections which is now unable to steer out the country from the economic woes.
Fazal urged the opposition parties in the national assembly to get united on a platform for evolving a consensual opposition strategy. On the occasion, MNA Maulana Asad Mahmood, MPA Mehmood Ahmad Battani, MMA district Ameer Maulana Sharif Ud Din and other district leaders were present on the occasion. Fazal made it clear that he has no enmity with any political party, but he cannot allow wrong policies and agendas of the government.
