PESHAWAR, 11 October: Federal government has approved Rs 2 billion for the expansion of  Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar and work on the project would start this month, said an official of Civil Aviation Authority.

Seeking anonymity he said that the parking lot would be expanded to accommodate more vehicles and planes in the airport. Similarly domestic and international lounges would also widened to accommodate more passengers. He said that the project would be completed within one and half  year.

Bacha Khan International Airport is the only airport in the northwest Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province which is used by residents of the province and FATA for domestic and intentional travel.
