Federal govt release Rs14 b for owners of damaged houses in tribal areas

ISLAMABAD: The Federal government has released Rs14 billion compensation amount for the affected people of tribal district Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The amount will be distributed among the affected people of tribal district whose houses and properties damaged due military operations against militants.

A survey of damaged houses in South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Kurram, Orakzai and Khyber districts is in progress, reported Radio Pakistan while quoting FDMA officials.

He said that owner of each completely damaged house will receive Rs400,000 while those whose houses or properties damaged partially will get Rs160,000.

The amount will help the affected people reconstruct their damaged houses so that they could start a normal life, FDMA officials said.
