PESHAWAR, 30 October: The annual convocation of the University of Peshawar was held here at the university’s convocation hall on Monday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, who is also the Chancellor of the university by virtue of his office, was the chief guest on the occasion. He gave away gold medals and degrees to the students who completed their studies.
Interestingly, girl students outnumbered male students in the convocation. Out of the total 347 students, 237 were female students while 108 were male.
Besides, 12 girl students and nine male students were awarded Ph. D degrees whereas six female students were given M. Phil degrees. Apart from this, 25 students including 15 male and 10 female students were decorated with gold medals for achieving top positions in their respective departments.
