'Fencing on Pak-Afghan border in KP almost complete'

PESHAWAR: Federal Interior Minister Brigadier (Retired) Ijaz Ahmad Shah has said that the fencing on the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been completed, but 20 percent work is still pending in Balochistan which will stop smuggling.

The total planned Pak Afghan border is 2,611km and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.  Owing to the effective physical and technical surveillance of the border, the government officials believe that the illegal border crossing would be made impossible once the border fencing is completed.  However, federal officials complain that there is a lack of cooperation from the Afghan authorities.

According to media reports, Khurram Shehzad Nawaz-led National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Internal Affairs, Special Secretary Home Secretary Waheed-ud-din said that when we seek legal assistance from foreign countries, they say our country has no legal aid authority. Therefore, he said, in the new bill, tt is suggested to establish authority.

Abdul Qadir Patel said that the clause to obtain confidential information during the investigation is ambiguous, it should be reviewed again. Interior Minister Ejaz Ahmed Shah told the meeting that some sectors in Islamabad and Lahore were sold twice, the master plan of the CDA was made in the sixties, it has decided to change the structure. Below which the CDA will operate.

Interior ministry bans Ansarul Islam

PESHAWAR: The Interior Ministry HAS banned Ansar-ul-Islam, a sub-organization of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, and directed all four provinces to take action against the organization. According to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry, Ansar-ul-Islam is acting as a military wing of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), while there is no scope for activities as a military wing of an organization in the constitution.

The notification has directed all four provinces to take action against Ansar-ul-Islam. It may be recalled that a few days ago a video of the JUI-F’s security guards went viral in which it was seen that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was taking security guard. The federal government has banned Ansar-ul-Islam, a sub-organization of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam after the video went viral.
