First woman police muharar appointed in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: The Nowshera Police appointed the first lady muharar of the district in a bid to introduce gender parity into the department. The constable Muniza has been appointed as Muharar on merit in Nowshera cantonment police station.

While talking to TNN, Muniza said that in 2017 she appeared in the exam to become the part the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police force. She added that she secured the first position across the province. Muniza informed that a total of 330 candidates appeared in the exam. The newly appointed Muharar said that all the candidate were tested on their knowledge of the law, adding that she was selected on the basis of her overall results.

Muniza belongs to Akora Khattak area of the district. She expressed her extreme happiness of being working as Muharar with KP police. She added that working in such a difficult situation is not less than a challenge, but she is happy and accepted it. She expressed the hope that she will be successful in her efforts to serve the country while working with the police force.

The woman police officer revealed that now the time has changed. And a number of women are eager to join the forces, especially the police, which was earlier considered as a field only dedicated to men. Muniza added that there is no doubt that there are a number of opportunities available for women and they can get promotions on the bases of their talent.

Talking about her mission, Muniza said, her aim to solve the issues faced by the women in our society. She added she will be making all efforts to solve the issues faced by women, who come to the police station and provide them with all possible support.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Tasswar Iqbal appreciated the step of appointing a lady muharar in the police station. Iqbal expressed that it will be much helpful in resolving the issues faced by womenfolk of the area.
