PESHAWAR: At least five militants associated with Daesh were killed in a foreign forces drone strike in Kunar province of Afghanistan on Friday.
Afghan media quoting Military Corps reported on Saturday that a hideout of Daesh militant group was targeted in Manogi and Narang districts of Kunar province. No more details were available about the attack. Daesh militants are active in parts of Kunar and Nangarhar provinces of the war-torn country.
The foreign forces are now increasingly using airstrikes and drones to target Daesh and Taliban militants in Afghanistan. Several high-value targets have been achieved in the drone strikes. However, sometimes innocent civilians also become target of such airstrikes which draw widespread condemnation.
Daesh militants have made their presence felt in some parts of Afghanistan recently by launching different attacks.
