PESHAWAR, September 5: Five more polio cases were reported from the tribal areas of Pakistan.

The National Institute of Health has notified that 18-month-old Hamza, 19-month-old Ibrahim, 13-month-old Bilal and 14-month-old Khizar Hayat of Khyber Agency, and three-year-old Hadiya of South Waziristan have been diagnosed with polio.

According to the Health Department, the number of polio cases in Pakistan has reached 127 this year. Most of the polio cases have been reported from FATA region, particularly North and South Waziristan agencies where the Taliban had imposed ban on vaccination of children.
