Five security personnel injured in North Waziristan accident

MIRANSHAH: Five security personnel were injured in a traffic accident in Razmak sub-division of North Waziristan tribal district on Friday.

Official sources said a truck and a car collided on Razmak-Miranshah Road due to which five security personnel were injured and the vehicles were also damaged. The sources said the car was rented by the security personnel.

The injured soldiers included Havaldar Sahir, Naik Riaz and Sepoys Shafaqat, Ahmed and Hafiz Aziz. The injured soldiers were taken to Dosali Hospital.

Meanwhile, five people were injured when a jeep fell into a ravine in Wari area of Upper Dir. The injured persons were taken to hospital, where the condition of one of them was stated to be critical.

Health Department employees decry ‘illegal’ deductions from salaries

The contractual employees of Health Department of North Waziristan have alleged that illegal deductions have been made from their salaries by the Agency Surgeon.

Sources said Agency Surgeon Dr Younas has been accused of withdrawing the salaries of 142 employees in cash and making deduction of Rs5,000 from the salary of each employee. In this way a total amount of Rs9.23 million has been deducted from the salaries of contractual employees.

The Health Department employees have called upon the concerned authorities to pay their salaries through their bank accounts in the same manner in which the employees of Mohmand tribal district receive their salaries. They also called upon the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health minister, DG Health, and Secretary Health to take action against the Agency Surgeon for making deductions from their salaries.
