PESHAWAR, 12 July: The Metrological Department has predicted heavy rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar on Sunday.
Like other parts of Pakistan, monsoon rains have started in different areas of KP and the provincial metropolis witnessed light rain on Saturday night. However, there is threat of flood in Peshawar, Kohat, Charsadda and Swat due to expected rains. The respective district administrations have asked the citizens living near the rivers to stay alter amid the flood threat.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA,) low level flood has been recorded in Peshawar’s Kabul river and Adenzai and Budhni nullahs. The Eid holidays of the concerned departments have also been cancelled owing to the flood alert.
