TANK, August 16: Fifteen houses have been submerged as flood hit a village in Tank district, local sources say.
TNN correspondent says the flood hit Ali Khel village on 15 August. The villagers have demanded the government take emergency measures to save lives and property.
“This is the second year since we have started taking up this flood issue with government authorities, but to no avail. Once again we demand authorities take measures to divert water flow in another direction to save our village in future as well,” said a local elder.
The deputy commissioner, Ahmed Khan, says they will soon start working to diver water flow. “At the moment, we need to do something for the flooded villages. We will also plan to solve this problem permanently,” he added.
