BANNU: The security forces claimed to have killed a suspected leader of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an encounter in Jani Khel area of Bannu district.

They said that the killed terrorist was identified as Naseeur Rehman who opened fire on security force when they were patrolling the area. The militant was killed in retaliatory firing and the commander was wanted to the security forces in several terror-related cases, the forces said.

Meanwhile, two security personnel were injured in a landmine blast in Dandi Kuch area of Speenwam tehsil of North Waziristan district. The injured were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH). The security forces said that the blast took place at a time when they were installing a fence on Pak-Afghan border.
