PESHAWAR, 13 December: The body of pop singer-turned-preacher Junaid Jamshed, who lost his life among 47 other people in a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane crash on 7 December, has been identified.
The Islamabad deputy commissioner said on Monday that the body of Junaid Jamshed was identified by forensic experts through the X-ray of face and dental history.
Humayun Jamshed, brother of Junaid Jamshed, said he will wait for the DNA tests report which will be available within two days and the Nimaz-e-Janaza will be performed at DHA Karachi on Thursday.
All the 47 people on board a PIA plane, including Junaid Jamshed and Chitral Deputy Commissioner Usama Warraich, lost their lives when it crashed near Havelian while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad on 7 December.
Most of the bodies remain unidentified and the relatives are waiting for the results of DNA tests for identification for burial of the bodies.
Earlier, officials at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) handed the body of Junaid’s wife, Nahya Jamshed, to his relatives.
