JAMRUD, 5 October: A ceremony to launch four books written to pay tributes to the martyrs and Ghazis (conquerors) in different wars for the security of Pakistan was organised in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency on Sunday.

The four books written by Colonel (Retd) Azam Qadri Afridi include Sentinels of the Sky, Heroes of Pakistan, Nishan-e-Haider and Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed. The security forces officers and local elders attended the ceremony in large number.

Colonel (Retd) Azam Afridi said on the occasion that the purpose of writing the books was to pay tributes to the achievements and sacrifices of soldiers for the security of the motherland.

Former federal minister Noorul Haq Qadri, who also attended the ceremony, said these books are about the achievements of brave soldiers. “I am highly thankful to Colonel Afridi for choosing our area for the launching and promotion of books about defenders of the motherland,” he said.
