BATTAGRAM, November 1: Save the Children, an organisation that works for child rights, has distributed package of free poultry to 112 houses in Battagram district.

Mr Syed Asif Shah, the project coordinator, says the organisation has distributed the packages in the areas of Battagram and Allai tehsil.

As per package, about 50 hens each were distributed in the houses in the area along with other utility goods.

A local resident named Hassan told TNN that the package would provide women of the area with an opportunity of earning for themselves and their families.

“The package will generate job opportunities because the eggs laid by the hens would be sold. According to a rough estimate, every person would be able to earn 500 rupees each,” he said.

A local resident said, “They should also provide us food and medicines for hens. We are really thankful to the organisation for this package.”
