JAMRUD, 24 April: A function was arranged in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency yesterday in connection with awareness campaign regarding importance of enrolment of children in schools.

The function was arranged at Jamrud Jirga Hall under the aegis of the political administration, National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) FATA and Education Department.

Speakers on the occasion said everyone should play his role in ensuring that every child gets education. They said the population of the tribal areas doesn’t need ration centres, but educational institutions.

“Everyone should play his role in ensuring maximum enrolment and bring children to schools,” a speaker said.

“According to a survey in a peaceful area in Khyber Agency, more than 21,000 children are not going to schools. The political administration with the help of local people and teachers will bring all these children to schools,” another speaker said.

Meanwhile, an awareness walk about importance of education was arranged from Jamrud tehsil to the Education Office and Bab-e-Khyber which was attended by hundreds of people from different walks of life.
