PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and MNA-elect Ali Amin Gandapur Saturday challenged the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman to contest election against him again in Dera Ismail Khan if he desires so.

In a statement, Gandapur, who is a former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister, also invited Fazlur Rehman to go for scrutiny of election results in NA-38 Dera Ismail Khan-I. Gandapur defeated the veteran politician from this constituency by pocketing 80,236 votes, whereas Fazlur Rehman got 45,457 votes.

On Fazlur Rehman’s allegations of rigging and manipulation of results, Gandapur said if Fazlur Rehman wants recounting or scrutiny of NA-38 election, then he is ready for that and even he is prepared if he wants re-election in this constituency. He vowed to defeat the Maulana by double margin in any such eventuality.

Gandapur contended that the politics of hypocrisy and indifference had been buried in the 25 July general elections.
