PESHAWAR, 21 June: The top three positions in the annual examinations of class 9th and 10th held under the auspices of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar were grabbed by girl students as the board announced the result here on Tuesday.

A ceremony was held at a local hotel here where chairman of the BISE Peshawar Prof. Muhammad Shafi Afridi awarded cash prizes and certificates to the distinctive position holders.

Aleesha Gulalai of the Frontier Youth College Acedemy achieved first position throughout the board by securing 1042 marks.

Aleeza Gul (1039) and Mahnoor Maqsood (1038) of the Peshawar Model School got second and third positions respectively.

The topper was awarded with a cash prize of Rs50,000 while the second and third position holders were given Rs45,000 and Rs40,000 respectively.

According to the official gazette, a total of 71,399 students appeared in the annual examinations of class 9th and 10th. The overall result of the board was 81 percent.

The position holder students dedicated their success to their own hard work, prayers of parents and supervision of teachers. They vowed to continue their hard work to win more laurels in future.
