BANNU, May 5: A primary school for girls was blown up in Bannu last night, the police say.
A device planted in the Government Girls Primary School in Mambati Barakzai, Kotka Munawar Khan area, exploded, causing damage to the walls of the school building.
The police say more than 20 schools, mostly those for girls, have been blown up within the jurisdiction of Miryan Police Station during the last several years.
Meanwhile, a native of Afghan refugees’ camp near the Domail Police Station was killed by unidentified gunmen. His body was found lying on Dammy Bridge links Bannu and Peshawar.
