BANNU, 20 October:The building of a Government Girls High School was damaged in a blast in Bannu’s Mailk Raza Khan village  late Saturday night.

Police said that the militants had planted an explosive at the school building, which exploded late Saturday and thus damaged two rooms and veranda of the school.

More than 800 schools have either been destroyed or damaged by Militants in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA)  and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province over the past few years.

Separately, the house of  Ziaullah, chairman of local Zakat committee, was damaged in a bomb explosion planted by unidentied people outside his house in Manddan area of Bannu.
