Girls schools closed in Orakzai without any reason

KALAYA: The girls schools of Chapar Mishti area of Orakzai tribal district are closed for the last two days without any official holiday announcement.

Muhammad Siddique, a local resident, said three out of total four girls schools in the sub-division are closed since Monday without any holidays announcement by officials due to which the students are sitting at home and their precious time is being wasted. He called upon the government to take action against the schools which are being closed without government notification. He said these schools should be immediately opened to save the precious time of the students. He said the local people along with their children will stage a protest if the schools were not opened immediately.

Locals said that teachers rarely come to performs duties in Government Girls Primary school Baber Killi, Government Girls Primary school Nari Kada and Government Girls Primary School Zor Chaper which lead to the closure of these schools.

According to Education Director FATA Hashim Khan one million children are out of schools in formerly known FATA region.

Orakzai District Education Officer Fazal Muhammad, when contacted, told TNN that he was unaware about the closure of girls schools. He said no one has been asked to close the schools and assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for closure of the schools.
